EDUCATION IS POWER
Sponsor a student to complete high school, continue on to college, or attend our annual Academic Camp.
Education is one of the most powerful tools to help communities lift themselves out of poverty. Yet in the rural communities where we work, poverty forces many capable students to leave school before they have the opportunity to graduate.
WE CAN CHANGE THAT.
The Sonder Project's flagship Education is Power program supports high-potential students from underserved rural communities in Burkina Faso and Malawi. Students receive more than financial assistance. They become part of a supportive community that provides mentorship, academic support, life skills development, and encouragement throughout their educational journey.

BE PART OF A STUDENT'S JOURNEY

When you sponsor a high school or college student, you will receive an email introduction in January and a handwritten letter from them in September. You may sponsor the same student each year, provided they continue to meet the program's expectations for academic performance and positive behavior.
Sponsors may also send a motivational message during our annual Day of Encouragement. To protect students and preserve the integrity of the program, all communication is coordinated through The Sonder Project.
